before and after house plans
The first photo is the configuration presently. There were a series of additions over many years with a minimum of forethought that has resulted in an unlivable floor plan. The second photo is the proposed plan that we submitted to the bank for loan purposes. It is a preliminary drawing. After we strip the ceilings and walls back to framing we'll determine how much incomplete, sloppy and structurally deficient work needs to be removed. We'll then see how practical the proposed plan is in reality. If you double click the photos they will enlarge. The drawings scale were 1/4 inch per foot.

We hope to open up the living room / dining room area, add a bedroom in the back (at the upper right section of the drawing and add another bath to the middle for guests. It is difficult to read the words. There will be a temporary office for Kim off of our master bedroom (top of drawing). The kitchen will be in the middle with a laundry and utility room in the lower right. My organ will be in my 'office' which is on the upper left quadrant across from the front door. My piano will sit somewhere in the middle of the living room. The bedrooms will each have a door.

a couple interior shots
This is typical of the inside.. there are boards, boards and more boards.. not too many walls yet. This shot runs along the back side of the house, one photo facing one direction, and the othere facing the other. This whole expanse is about 85 feet long. The last owner/builder put a bunch of double exterior doors all over. (no comment)
a picture of the outside of the house
The street that this property abuts runs from Northeast to Southwest on a North/South, East/West grid. I have driven by it many times, but never noticed it in spite of it's size. It blends nicely into the hillside. I hope that when we paint it will dissappear even further. The Property is totally fenced.
If you look at the original air photo you can see how the land fans out. I think we will have a driveway that goes up and around that house that will lead to Kim's new shop as well as a back entrance.
